Everyone goes through recruitment for different reasons. Some individuals may be looking for friendships, involvement and service opportunities, or ways to personally grow, while others may not know exactly what they’re looking for in a sorority. I’m here to tell you that Phi Mu will be what you need it to be and so much more. It can offer you all of these aspects, but most importantly Phi Mu will provide you with a family.

 

Like family, Phi Mu is supportive and never failing, it will always be there for you. It’s a place where you can go to be yourself and feel endless support. From the moment I walked into Phi Mu during recruitment, I immediately felt welcomed; every sister I talked to genuinely cared about what I had to say. I know when I walk into the house I can sit down and talk to anyone about anything and they will listen. It’s an incredible feeling to know that you never have to face anything alone, there are two hundred-and-fifty women you can lean on and carry you through any hardship or uncertainties. As I faced the unexpected passing of my mom, Phi Mu was there in more ways than I could have ever imagined. I received a book of letters filled with words of love and encouragement from each sister and I knew they would be by my side all along the way. I treasure the book of letters as it serves as a reminder that I can count on any sister regardless of how close we are. I am forever grateful for the continued love and support Phi Mu gives me daily and the person it has shaped me to be.

 

Every day I am thankful for the friendships, endless laughs, and memories this sisterhood has brought me. My sisters have shown me how to be a better friend and leader, and they inspire me to step out of my comfort zone, get involved, and reach goals that seem impossible. I have never felt stronger, more confident, and more like myself than I have since joining Phi Mu. You are never judged or expected to be someone that you’re not, Phi Mu is a place where you can grow, be yourself, and celebrate your successes. Phi Mu will meet you where you are and push you towards what you can become, all while walking with you every step of the way.
